Last full week of 2016

Today is the start of the last full week of Parliamentary business of 2016. Business todays starts with Questions to the Secretary of State for Defence. The main business of the day is the final stages of the Savings (Government Contributions) Bill which establishes Lifetime ISA’s which allow individuals to save – for example for a deposit for a property – and receive a cash bonus from the government. There are then several other smaller items of business which will be decided before the end of the day.

I have meetings of the European Research Group which is working to ensure Brexit is delivered and a meeting with representatives of the Jammu & Kashmir Self Determination Movement.
