I am travelling back down to Westminster today as the House of Commons resumes business. With the Prime Minister expected to make a statement on the European Union Council he attended at the very end of the term before Christmas, events in the Middle East, flooding at home and the breakdown of the talks with the junior doctors I expect there may be a number of matters to be raised before we get to the main business of the day. This is scheduled to be further debate on the Housing and Planning Bill. I have a meeting of the Backbench Business Committee to attend first before I can go into the main chamber.

Thank you for the insight. I have empathy with you. I know that feeling of heading ‘down’ to London to listen/attend what can be fruitless meetings.
