Like millions of others today is my first day back in the office after the 2016 New Year. Loads of post. Loads of phone calls to deal with. I am sure this will be a familiar problem being faced by all those returning after the break. Of course, the floods which occurred during the Christmas break have resulted, not surprisingly, in an increase in the calls for help.
I should add the House of Commons does not return until tomorrow so I am working from Bury today.
