With the assassination of the Russian ambassador in Ankara, Turkey and the lorry attack in Berlin Germany provided fresh reminders yesterday if any were needed of the uncertain and dangerous World in which we live. Unexpected events can unfold in an instant. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who Christmas period has been ruined by the events of yesterday.
In the Commons today the business starts with questions to the Department of Health. Then unless there is further urgent business the first debate is on the problems faced by those who homes are leasehold or commonhold. There is then a general debate on matters which backbench members wish to raise before the Christmas recess.
Apologies for the seeming indifference to the Berlin incident. I had not read the report before my comment. I have to agree with Trump’s comment it the incident is true. A shamefully cowardly attack.
Dear Mr Nuttall
Will you please clarify what these lease and commonhold problems are and their possible effect on people’s lives. ?
I believe the concern is over the way the leases are being interpreted and implemented. I know from my time as a Solicitor there were some Companies who specialised in buying the right to collect ground rents and then maximise income by charging for consents and making leaseholders insure their property only through policies arranged by the landlord.
David
Thank you for your prompt reply. I can only hope that sufficient debate will ensure the fundamentally basic protection for people. It seems these days that nothing is safe anymore regardless of our Parliament’s existence.
