Today is the third UK Small Business Saturday. A national campaign to celebrate the importance of our small businesses. For all the attention the media pay to big national and international companies 99% of people work for smaller businesses. Here in Bury they are the backbone of the economy. With increasing competition from the Internet it is more important than ever that we all use our local shops as much as possible.
Yesterday, after attending the Commons in the morning I returned to Bury and attended Bury’s Civic Charity Ball at the Longfield Suite.
