The weekend ahead of Easter is without doubt the right time for Ramsbottom to host its Annual Chocolate Festival. I went at the start on Saturday when things were still really to get going but it was clear that it was a tremendous success. The report in the Lancashire Telegraph can be read here. I was out campaigning with our excellent local government candidate for Ramsbottom Ian Bevan. In addition to a walkabout in Ramsbottom we also called in to the Spring Fair at St.Paul’s Church.
From Ramsbottom I called in to Crompton Meadows (home to Tottington St. John’s Cricket Club) to take a look at the works being carried out to install new drains on part of the outfield which is particularly prone to waterlogging.
In the evening Sue and I attended Bolton Road Methodists Church where the Ramsbottom Choral Society were performing Handel’s Messiah.
Yesterday, After attending church in the morning Sue and I attended the Palm Sunday lunch in the Parish Hall. I was later interviewed for one hour on The Politics Show on Bury’s Project 29 radio station
