I am presently making what is, sadly, an all too rare visit to my brother and his wife who live near Great Yarmouth.
Last Sunday afternoon I attended the Puppy Show at the Holcombe Hunt. In fact, I was only able to stay for the lunch part of events and the opening speeches because I had already accepted an invitation to attend a fund raising event in aid of Bury Hospice and so I had to leave before the actual judging took place.
The fund raising event for Bury Hospice had a Carribean theme complete with fruit punch (alcoholic if required), carribean chicken and a steel band. There was one aspect of proceedings which was not traditionallly viewed as Carribean and that was the weather – there was heavy rain throughout most of the afternoon whilst I was there at least. Despite the weather it was quite well attended and hopefully will have raised much needed funds for our local hospice.
