Tottington and District Horticultural Society

I attended the Spring Show of the Tottington and District Horticultural Society yesterday. There Is a wide array of classes available for people to enter and all classes are open to non-members as equally as they are to members. The daffodils were spectacular as ever. There are also classes for floral art, cookery, honey, wine and eggs. The next show is scheduled for 10th September. The Society is particularly keen on finding new members willing to serve on the Committee so if anyone is interested in horticultural and craft matters and could help please get in touch with them. Their Secretary is Mrs Heaton Tel 01204 883379.

Radio Manchester

Yesterday in addition to some more door to door canvassing I appeared in a debate on Andy Crane’s lunchtime show on BBC Radio Manchester along with the Labour and Liberal Democrat candidates that was broadcast live from Bury’s Market Square in warm Spring sunshine.

Today in addition to helping with some leaflet delivery I attended a coffee morning at St.Anne’s in Tottington and then helped Bury Rotary Club with their Stroke Awareness Day in the Millgate Centre. After collecting another batch of I called in to the Tottington & District Horticultural Society’s Spring Show at Greenmount Old School.

I attended the September Show organised by the Tottington and District Horticultural Society this afternoon. I am always inpressed by the huge amount of effort that goes into making the Show possible. The exhibitors prepare some wonderful produce and the crafts exhibition demonstrates the wide range of talent we have in the area. I am seen here alongside the Society’s Treasurer Councillor Roger Brown with the winning entry in the Heaviest Pumpkin Class
