With the Party Conferences history for another year MPs from all over the United Kingdom converge on Westminster today as Parliament resumes in earnest. As always after recess I have come to expect the unexpected on the first day back. We do know that proceedings will begin with questions on Education and the main business will be the Second Reading of the Neighbourhood Planning Bill. What do not yet know is what additional business may be added.

Education – Grammar Schools. Papers have been full of the hypocrisy that is Labour and some Conservative angst against the principle of selection. Yet they put their own children through paid selection. Here comes the first test for you/Mrs May – we (the family breakfast table committee) watch with interest. Have fun.
