Bank Holiday to Remember

For Leicester City fans they will always remember the 2016 May Day Bank Holiday as the day when against all the odds their unfancied team were finally crowned as Premier League Champions. As a nation we always love the underdogs and personally I think it is good for football that a side other than one of the ones normally regarded as the ‘Big Clubs’ has managed to beat the odds and win the Premiership Title. Double celebrations too for the City of Leicester as the World ranked Number One snooker player Mark Selby won the World Championship snooker title at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre.

Certainly a Bank Holiday to remember for the City of Leicester.

I went to the Greenmount Village Party where after a rainy morning they were fortunate to have some sun on the proceedings even though it was understandably a bit waterlogged in places. The new Village Green sign was unveiled at the start of the proceedings which explains some of the history of the area.

It is back to Westminster today for me as the House of Commons starts on the last few days business in the present session.
