Up early this morning so I can attend the 7.45am church service at St. Margarets across the road from the House of Commons. It’s raining. The main event today, as is usually the case on Wednesdays, is PMQ’s, Questions to the Prime Minister. It is opposition day today and so the official opposition get to choose the topic for debate and this week they have chosen the police.
I have to attend a meeting of the Procedure Committee later when we are scheduled to meet in private. Many of our meetings are in public but sometimes the Committee feel it is easier to get a witness to be frank with us if the proceedings are not being recorded.
