News today that two of the most well known breast cancer charities are to merge. Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Campaign are to work together for the next few months as they plan a full merger to take place in April of next year.
Despite the huge progress made in research in recent years sadly still all too many suffer from this particular cancer and in some cases lose their lives. The aim of the united charity will be that no one will die of breast cancer by 2050. The new merged charity will be the largest dedicated breast cancer research charity in the UK.
I welcome the news of this merger. Together the two charities will be stronger and I believe better placed to achieve their shared aim.
