The Peel Society

On Friday I was delighted to be able to Join The Mayor of Bury along with several Councillors and others in welcoming to Bury members of The Peel Society at a commemorative dinner held at the Village Hotel in Bury.

The Peel Society, which is based in Tamworth ( the town Peel represented in Parliament) was formed in 1979 and has created a major collection of Peel memorabilia and members of the Society were visiting Bury to see the birthplace of Sir Robert Peel. The principal guest speaker was the Rector of Bury Rev John Findon.
