House Prices

The Halifax are reporting today that their statistics of house prices for last month show that prices fell by over 2%. Now as with any single statistic I would always suggest that it be treated with a degree of caution but my own feeling has been that house prices have been unsustainably high for months. Different factors are coming together to affect the housing market such as higher mortgage rates and the requirement for higher deposit, add to this the flat building explosion which is apparent from a visit to any major city centre and it is easy to see why prices could very well be falling.

I was out on the campaign trail again yesterday in the morning and I did some Notary work in the afternoon. I am out campaigning again today so I hope the presently dull and wet weather brightens up.
