North Manor Annual Dinner

I was the guest speaker at the North Manor Annual dinner last night. North Manor Ward is one of the eight Wards which make up Bury North Constituency and is very much an artificial creation of the Boundary Commission. Unlike Wards like Tottington and Ramsbottom which have clear and indeed historic boundaries ( albeit gradually changed over the years ) North Manor is an amalgam of villages from Hawkshaw in the West to Nangreaves in the East. It was in the very pleasant surroundings of the Lord Raglan pub in Nangreaves that North Manor held their Annual dinner. It is always difficult when boundary changes force new structures on the Party and the members and supporters in North Manor have done excellent work to build a really cohesive and strong branch. The dinner was well attended with nearly 60 members present and they asked many varied and interesting questions for me to answer after I had spoken.
Today I had the morning off work and then it was back to work this afternoon.
