I have just returned from attending the Conservative Paty’s Spring Forum in Nottingham. It is the first time I can recall the Spring Conference being held in Nottingham and it was a pleasant City to visit. Lots of shops which Susan found time to investigate yesterday whilst I was at a meeting for Candidates. We had a great Thai meal last night ( I love Thai food and I was pleased that having wandered around the Centre we discovered a Thai restaurant virtually next door to the hotel where we were staying).
The main theme of the Conference was on public services and the NHS in particular. There were excellent speeches yesterday from the Party Chairman Francis Maude MP the Shadow Chancellor George Osborne MP and William Hague MP the Shadow Foriegn Secretary. There was a brief appearance from the Leader before the close yesterday but his main speech closed the Conference today. David Cameron emphasised that the next Conservative Government will protect and develop the NHS.
