After spending some time in the Commons yesterday morning I came back to Bury. In the afternoon I was invited to visit the Bury Black Pudding factory and offices and I am grateful to all at the Bury Black Pudding Co for chatting to me and showing me around.
In the evening I attended a meeting in Summerseat to discuss the problems that have been caused by the collapse and subsequent demolition of the Waterside Pub. The bridge has had to be closed and there are many problems arising out of that. Mike Owen the Chief Executive of Bury Council and I endeavoured to answer the numerous questions local residents had and I hope everyone who attended feel it was worthwhile.
This morning, by coincidence I have another meeting with the Chief Executive of Bury Council and the Leader to discuss a range of issues including the flood recovery programme.
