On Thursday Ken Clarke the Shadow Secretary of State for Business visited Bury on the day that it was announced that the Government’s own Council watchdog had awarded Four Star satus to Bury Council which is the highest award they make.
Ken Clarke is working very hard since being brought back to the front bench by David Cameron and we were very pleased he was able to meet with Councillors and then attend a separate event to meet local Association Members. I took the opportunity to hand to him for onward delivery to Lord Mandelson a petition containing over 3000 names which people in Ramsbottom have signed calling on the Government to maintain a Post Office in Ramsbottom
