On Thursday evening I led a discussion Supper which was held down in Stockport organised by Greater Manchester Conservatives. The choice of topic was down to me and I decided that it would be both topical and interesting to debate the economy and more particularly the size of the public debt. As I imagined the topic resulted in vigorous debate about how we as a nation should tackle the incredible current account deficit that we have. The National Debt is increasing at the rate of somewhere between £5,000 and £6,000 every single second. It is mindblowing and frightening.
